# Investor update pack

## Purpose

Assemble a factual investor communication that connects quarterly financial performance, operating milestones, risks, and asks to the company’s approved metrics and prior commitments.

## Scope

Cover revenue, ARR or other approved recurring metric, gross margin, burn, cash balance, runway, customer wins and losses, product delivery, hiring, fundraising status, risks, and next-quarter priorities.

**Excluded:** inventing forecasts, changing accounting definitions, making securities-law conclusions, or sending the update to investors.

## Data basis

- Board-approved P&L, balance, cash, runway, and KPI tables.
- CRM bookings and pipeline report, customer movement log, product roadmap, hiring plan, and risk register.
- Prior investor update and approved narrative or shareholder-letter format.

## Result

A concise investor letter and supporting metric sheet with actuals, prior-period comparison, outlook, risks, and explicit requests; each claim links to a source row or document section.

## Quality criteria

- Metric definitions match the prior update or explain an approved change.
- Cash and runway figures reconcile to the finance source and state the as-of date.
- Actual, target, forecast, and aspiration are visually distinct.
- Customer names and confidential details follow the supplied disclosure rule.
- Every ask names the decision, timing, and evidence for its urgency.

## Instructions

Start with the period and as-of date. Compare current quarter with prior quarter and approved target using the same currency and cohort definitions. Do not turn pipeline into revenue or a roadmap item into shipped product. Keep positive and negative developments balanced. Use the prior letter for continuity, but let current approved records override stale narrative. Mark any management estimate as an estimate with its basis.

## Adapt before use

- Add board-approved KPI definitions, finance tables, prior update, and disclosure policy.
- Map CRM, product, people, cash, and risk fields to the reporting pack.
- Set reporting quarter, material variance threshold, runway convention, and investor audience.
