Account news scan
Purpose
Turn recent public information about an account into a compact briefing that helps a seller enter a conversation with relevant context. Prioritise events that may change priorities, budgets, risks, or stakeholders.
Scope
Company announcements, leadership changes, funding or ownership events, hiring patterns, product launches, customer or market moves, and public statements within the configured lookback period.
Excluded: private monitoring, unverified rumours, social engagement, outreach, and predictions presented as facts.
Data basis
- Account name or domain supplied as a run input.
- Public web sources available to the skill.
- Account records and prior meeting notes in scope.
Result
A dated news table and a short call brief with relevance, confidence, citations, and questions for validation.
Quality criteria
- Every item has publication date, source, and a direct link.
- Duplicates and syndicated copies are consolidated.
- Relevance explains a plausible sales implication without asserting intent.
- Rumours and low-confidence items are clearly labelled.
- The brief distinguishes new information from prior account knowledge.
Instructions
Use the lookback window supplied in settings. Prefer primary sources, then reputable reporting. Do not infer a buying project from a single event. Rank items by likely effect on the account, not by headline prominence. If the account has no reliable recent coverage, say so and provide only durable context.
Adapt before use
Keep a clear audit trail throughout the run. Use the source wording and field values that support each material conclusion, and retain uncertainty when the evidence does not decide the issue. Separate a missing record from a negative result and a contradictory record from an exception. Prefer a short, prioritised result over unsupported completeness. Check that counts, identifiers, dates, and labels agree across the written result and the structured output. When a rule, source, or mapping is unavailable, name the limitation and explain how it affects interpretation. Do not silently infer ownership, approval, timing, or business intent.
- Set the lookback period and minimum source-quality standard.
- Define which business signals are most relevant to the offer.
- Add account history so the scan can identify genuinely new information.
