SEO keyword opportunity analysis
Purpose
Find search terms where demand and business relevance justify content or optimization work. The analysis makes the score reproducible and prevents volume alone from driving the roadmap.
Scope
Normalize keyword records, classify intent, compare current pages and competitor coverage, score opportunity, and map selected terms to existing or proposed content.
Excluded: guaranteed traffic forecasts, automated publishing, backlink acquisition, and keyword claims without a dated source.
Data basis
- Keyword table with
keyword, locale, volume, difficulty, cpc, intent, rank, andsource_date. - Site page inventory with URL, title, type, topic, index status, and organic clicks.
- Product, audience, and conversion taxonomy.
- Competitor keyword or SERP evidence and content brief rubric.
Result
A scored keyword opportunity sheet, content-map, and prioritized SEO recommendation.
Quality criteria
- Every keyword retains source date, locale, intent, and metric provenance.
- Opportunity scores show component values and the approved weighting formula.
- A keyword is mapped to one primary page or explicitly marked
new content. - Cannibalization and duplicate-topic risks are identified with URLs.
- Recommendations state the evidence threshold and next measurement.
Instructions
Keep locale and device context attached to every metric. Treat missing volume or rank as unknown, not zero. Separate informational, commercial, navigational, and transactional intent using the rubric. Do not add CPC or difficulty from memory. Cap one page’s primary keyword assignments according to the content policy and explain ties.
Adapt before use
Retain the original keyword spelling in the evidence sheet. Use the source export date in every comparison table. Source metrics are refreshed when their stated freshness window expires.
